For the Filling
  • 3 cloves Garlic Fresh is recommended.
  • 4 cups Spinach Use fresh spinach for better texture.
  • 2 medium Onions Cook low and slow for maximum sweetness.
  • 2 tablespoons Nutritional Yeast Optional but recommended for enhanced taste.
  • 1 cup Marinara Sauce Use a thick, well-seasoned version.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Mix warm water (about 110°F) with active dry yeast in a bowl and let sit for 5–10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Add yeast mixture and olive oil, mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5–7 minutes until smooth, then let it rise in a greased bowl for 1 hour.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet, sauté sliced onions for about 20 minutes until golden.
  5. Add minced garlic and spinach to onions, cooking for 2–3 minutes until spinach is wilted. Stir in nutritional yeast.
  6. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread the cooled filling, roll tightly, and cut into 1-inch pieces.
  7. Place rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat oven to 375°F, bake rolls for 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
