Steps to Prepare
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and clean the mushrooms gently. Remove the stems and place the caps upside down on a baking sheet.
- Bake the mushroom caps for about 15 minutes until slightly softened, then let cool.
- Pat dry the shrimp and sauté in a skillet with olive oil for 3-4 minutes until pink.
- Chop the cooked shrimp and mix with cream cheese, mayonnaise, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
- Prepare the topping by mixing breadcrumbs with melted butter and fold in Parmesan cheese (if using).
- Spoon the filling into the mushroom caps, sprinkle with the breadcrumb mixture evenly on top.
- Return to the oven to bake for an additional 20 minutes until the topping is golden brown.
- Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, and serve garnished with fresh herbs.
