Preparation Steps
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, ranch dressing, garlic salt, and onion powder. Blend until smooth. Fold in chicken, bacon, green onions, and 1 cup of cheese.
- Cut the Italian bread in half lengthwise and hollow out some inner bread to hold the filling.
- Layer 1 cup of cheese on the bottom half of the bread, then spoon the filling on top, spreading it evenly. Top with remaining cheese.
- Brush the outer crust with melted butter, place the halves back together, and wrap in aluminum foil.
- Bake for 30-40 minutes until the filling is heated through and cheese is melted. Uncover for the last 5 minutes for a crispy top.
- Let cool for about 5 minutes, unwrap foil, and slice into thick pieces before serving.
