For the Casserole
  • 1 package Frozen Ravioli Choose cheese or meat varieties
  • 1 pound Ground Beef Substitute with plant-based ground meat for vegetarian option
  • 2 cups Marinara Sauce Store-bought or homemade
  • 1 tablespoon Italian Seasoning Can substitute with fresh herbs
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder Fresh garlic can be used
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder Fresh onions can also be used
For the Creamy Mixture
  • 8 ounces Cream Cheese Can substitute with ricotta
  • 2 cups Shredded Mozzarella Cheese Reserve some for topping
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese Can be omitted or swapped for any hard cheese

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. In a large skillet, heat a splash of olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, about 7-10 minutes. Drain excess grease and stir in marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and onion powder. Simmer for 5-10 minutes.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese with half of the shredded mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  3. In a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, spread a thin layer of meat sauce at the bottom. Layer frozen ravioli, dollop half of the creamy mixture, and repeat until ingredients are used, finishing with meat sauce and remaining mozzarella.
  4. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Cover the casserole with aluminum foil and bake for 25-30 minutes. Remove foil for the last 5-10 minutes to achieve a golden crust.
  5. Let the casserole rest for 5-10 minutes before serving with a fresh salad or garlic bread.
