Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry onto a lightly floured surface to about ⅛ inch thick.
  3. Combine granulated sugar and ground cinnamon in a bowl, mixing thoroughly.
  4. Brush melted butter evenly over the entire surface of the rolled pastry.
  5. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over the melted buttered pastry.
  6. Slice the dough into strips approximately 1-inch wide.
  7. Twist each strip several times and arrange them on the baking sheet.
  8. Brush a beaten egg over the tops of the twists for a glossy finish, if desired.
  9. Bake for 15-20 minutes, until golden brown and puffed up.
  10. Allow to cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.
