Preparation Steps

  3. Mix in the ground cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves, and salt. Stir continuously for 1-2 minutes.
  4. Increase heat to medium-high and bring to a gentle boil, watching for bubbles in about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Reduce the heat to low and let simmer uncovered for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
  6. Remove from heat and cool for 10-15 minutes in the pot.
  7. Transfer to sterilized jars or airtight containers and seal tightly.
