Ingredients
  

For the Burger Patties
  • 1 pound Ground Beef Substitute with ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
  • 4 ounces Feta Cheese Goat cheese can be used as a substitute.
  • 1 large Egg Can be skipped for a vegan mixture.
  • 1 small Onion Use shallots for a milder flavor.
  • 2 cloves Garlic Feel free to substitute with garlic powder.
  • 1 teaspoon Oregano Basil or thyme are good substitutes.

For the Tomato Cream Sauce
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream Coconut cream is a dairy-free alternative.
  • 2 tablespoons Tomato Paste Tomato sauce can be used, but reduce the amount.
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika Regular paprika can be used for a milder flavor.
  • 2 cloves Minced Garlic Fresh or powdered garlic is acceptable.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, crumbled feta cheese, egg, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix gently with your hands until just combined.
  2. Let this mixture sit for about 10 minutes.
Form Patties
  1. Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape into patties.
  2. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty.
Cook Burgers
  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Cook patties for 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 4-5 minutes.
  3. Remove the patties from the skillet and keep warm.
Make Sauce
  1. In the same skillet, reduce heat and add minced garlic, sauté for 30 seconds.
  2. Add tomato paste and cook for 2 minutes until caramelized.
  3. Pour in heavy cream and mix well.
Thicken Sauce
  1. Add crumbled feta and smoked paprika to the sauce.
  2. Stir constantly for about 3-5 minutes until the sauce thickens.
Combine
  1. Return the cooked patties to the skillet and spoon sauce over each.
  2. Simmer together for 1-2 minutes.
Serve
  1. Plate the burgers with sauce drizzled over them.
  2. Garnish with parsley and extra feta. Serve hot.
