- In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, ketchup, Dijon mustard, pickle relish, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix thoroughly until smooth and well blended.
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef with Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Shape into patties about ¾ inch thick.
- In a large skillet, heat butter and vegetable oil over medium heat. Add thinly sliced onions and sauté for 10-15 minutes.
- Cook the beef patties in the same skillet for 3-4 minutes per side, topping each with a slice of Swiss cheese.
- Butter one side of each slice of bread and toast in another skillet until golden brown and crispy.
- Spread secret sauce on the unbuttered side of each slice, layer with a patty and caramelized onions, and top with another slice of bread.
- Grill the assembled sandwiches for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Slice in half and serve immediately with extra secret sauce on the side.
