- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, wheat germ, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, molasses, and melted butter until smooth.
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and gently stir until just combined.
- Lightly flour your countertop and turn the dough out, knead briefly and shape into a 7-inch circle.
- Score a cross on top of the dough.
- Transfer to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 15 minutes at 425°F (220°C), then reduce to 375°F (190°C) and bake for another 30-35 minutes.
