Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add in the eggs and vanilla extract until just combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing on low until combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Drop about 2 tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them 3-4 inches apart. Optionally, press extra chocolate chunks or sprinkles on top.
- Bake for 9-11 minutes, until the edges are slightly golden and the centers are soft. Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out shapes while warm.
- Allow cookies to cool for 5-7 minutes on the sheet, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes
For best results, use room temperature ingredients, and don't over-bake to keep the centers chewy. Cut cookies while warm for best shape.
