  • 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce can tomato puree as substitute
  • 1/2 cup sugar-free ketchup
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tsp dry mustard
  • 1 tsp onion powder
Biscuits
  • 1 can (10.2 oz) GRANDS homestyle buttermilk biscuits 5 ct.
  • 1/2 cup 2% shredded Colby jack cheese

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Gather your ingredients.
  2. In a large skillet, heat over medium heat and add the 1 lb. of 96% lean ground beef. Brown it for about 5-7 minutes and drain excess fat.
  3. Add diced yellow bell pepper, onion, and finely diced mushrooms. Sauté for 5-6 minutes until tender.
  4. Stir in tomato sauce, sugar-free ketchup, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, dry mustard, and onion powder. Cook for 3-4 minutes.
  5. Pour the beef mixture into a greased baking dish. Cut biscuits into quarters and layer them on top.
  6. Sprinkle 1/2 cup shredded Colby jack cheese over the biscuits.
  7. Bake for approximately 25 minutes, until biscuits are golden brown and cheese is bubbling.
  8. Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.
