For the Chicken
  • 2 pounds Chicken Thighs Bone-in or boneless based on preference

Equipment

  • Large Bowl
  • Baking Sheet
  • Aluminum Foil
  • Meat Thermometer

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, five-spice powder, minced garlic, and grated ginger until well combined.
  2. Place the chicken thighs into the marinade, ensuring they're fully coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, ideally overnight.
  3. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) while the chicken marinates.
  4. Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
  5. Remove the chicken thighs from the marinade, letting the excess drip off. Reserve the marinade and place chicken on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Bake the chicken for 25–30 minutes, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  7. At the halfway mark, baste the chicken with the reserved marinade and return to the oven to finish baking.
  8. Let the chicken rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
