Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Start by draining and thoroughly rinsing 1 can of black beans under cold water to remove excess salt and flavor.
  2. In a food processor, combine the prepared black beans, cocoa powder, and your choice of coconut oil or nut butter. Add pure vanilla extract, a pinch of salt, and pure maple syrup.
  3. Blend everything together for about 1-2 minutes, or until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy.
  4. Using a mini cookie scoop or a spoon, portion the mixture and roll it into bite-sized balls or truffles.
  5. Transfer the plate of balls to the refrigerator and chill for at least 30 minutes to 1 hour.
  6. If desired, melt some chocolate and dip or drizzle over each ball, or roll them in shredded coconut or chopped nuts.
