For the Coconut and Chocolate
  • 1 cup Sweetened Shredded Coconut
  • 1 cup Semisweet Chocolate or chocolate chips

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8x8-inch baking pan with foil or parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and light brown sugar until smooth and creamy.
  3. Add in the 2 large eggs, 1 egg yolk, and vanilla extract, mixing until fully incorporated.
  4. Sprinkle the sea salt and flour over the mixture, folding until a thick batter forms.
  5. Fold in three-quarters of the sweetened coconut and chocolate, then pour into the prepared pan.
  6. Sprinkle the remaining coconut and chocolate on top, pressing them gently into the batter.
  7. Bake for about 40 minutes, until the top is golden and the center is slightly gooey.
  8. Remove from the oven and allow to cool in the pan for at least 30 minutes before cutting into bars.
