Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat up. For a baking pan, lightly grease it with olive oil or sprinkle with cornmeal.
  2. Stretch your pizza dough into a 12-inch circle on a lightly floured surface. Let it rest if needed for easier handling.
  3. Drizzle extra virgin olive oil over the dough, spreading evenly with a brush.
  4. Sprinkle minced garlic, kosher salt, and black pepper evenly over the oiled surface.
  5. Pre-bake the crust in the oven for 5 minutes until it starts to puff up.
  6. Layer dollops of ricotta, slices of fresh mozzarella, and then shredded provolone over the crust.
  7. Return the pizza to the oven and bake for an additional 7 to 10 minutes until the cheeses are melted and the crust is golden.
  8. Drizzle with extra olive oil and garnish with freshly chopped basil or parsley. Let it cool for 5 minutes, then slice and serve.
