- In a large mixing bowl, flake the drained canned tuna. Add breadcrumbs, cheese, spices, and a beaten egg. Mix until cohesive.
- Form the mixture into 4 to 5 patties, about 1 inch thick. Place on a plate and refrigerate for 15 to 20 minutes.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and add oil. Allow to warm until shimmering.
- Carefully place patties into the hot skillet and fry for about 4 minutes until golden brown. Flip and cook for another 4 minutes.
- Add cheese on top of each patty in the final minute, cover to melt.
- Serve hot on toasted bread or English muffin with a salad.
