Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Peel and boil Yukon Gold potatoes in salted water for 12-15 minutes until fork-tender. Then, mash them while hot.
  2. Fold in grated Hungarian smoked cheese, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt into the mashed potatoes.
  3. Allow mixture to cool, then scoop and form into sticks roughly 4-5 inches long.
  4. Set up a breading station with flour, beaten eggs, and panko breadcrumbs, seasoned with sweet Hungarian and smoked paprika.
  5. Heat oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry sticks in batches for 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Sprinkle cooked sticks with extra paprika and salt. Serve hot with sour cream mixed with fresh dill.
