Braised Short Ribs Instructions
- Prepare ingredients: Peel and chop potatoes, peel garlic, and season short ribs with salt and pepper for 15 minutes.
- Sear ribs: Heat Dutch oven, add oil, and sear ribs for 4-5 minutes per side until browned.
- Sauté aromatics: In the same pot, sauté chopped onion and garlic until translucent.
- Braise ribs: Return ribs, add red wine, cover halfway with beef broth, add thyme and rosemary, and braise in oven for 2.5-3 hours.
- Make garlic mash: Boil potatoes and garlic until tender, then drain and return to pot.
- Mash and flavor: Add milk and butter to drained potatoes and mash until creamy.
- Serve: Plate mashed potatoes, top with ribs, and drizzle with braising sauce.
